Well, I finally gave in…Anna had her first “solid” food on Sunday night.  Just a little bit of rice cereal mixed with breastmilk.  The pediatrician said to give it to her at 4 months and she’ll be 4 months this Friday.  For the record, she’s still not sleeping through the night.  Here she is taking her very first bite:

She wasn’t so sure about it at first, but as you can tell by looking at her, she likes her food.  So she’s adjusting just fine to spoon feeding.  So far we’ve only given it to her once a day (at night). Here’s a couple more pics of the occasion…She certainly looks very interested in what’s on that spoon!

And this one is just sweet…

I have to admit I was a little sad in a way.  I can’t believe she’s already big enough to eat cereal.  She’s growing too fast!

In more sad mommy news…Yesterday was the longest I had ever been away from her.  It was my first almost full day at work.  As promised the nanny was in the apartment over our office at 9am.  It turns out it was someone I know…or at least know of.  Her grandmother lives across the street from Anne and they are friends.  I had also worked with her (at my last job) when she was employed by one of our customers.  So I don’t know her, but we have met a few times before.  I like her alot.  She made me feel alot better about leaving Anna for the day.  So, about 9:30, Mark and I went on our way.  We had customers to see in McKenzie and Paris.  We didn’t get nearly as much done as we would have liked, but I think we made some progress anyway.  About lunchtime I really started missing Anna.  I mean bad!  I could feel it in the pit of my stomach.  It wasn’t a good feeling.  I felt like I was missing an arm or something.  Mark said I should feel like I had gained an arm!  LOL  We had to be back to the office by 2:00, though, so I knew I didn’t have much longer.  I had, up to that point, resisted the urge to call and check on her because I knew if I heard her crying in the background I would HAVE to go back.  At about 12:30 I finally caved and called Holly (the nanny)…and Anna was sound asleep!  Oh that made me feel better!  We got back to the office around 1:30 and I immediately went up to see her.  She was still asleep.  In fact Holly said she’d been asleep since 10:30!  OMG!!  She had a 3 hour nap???  So Holly didn’t have to mess with feeding her at all (which is what I was worried about) or even with changing her diaper.  She’d been asleep almost the whole time!  Of course she barely napped at all for the rest of the day, but that’s ok.  She wasn’t terribly fussy and she slept pretty well last night.  I was just glad she didn’t scream the whole time.  I was soooo worried about how she would do.

Today Mark is staying home with her part of the day and I’m going to see a few more customers.  Woohoo…better get in the shower!
